Tuesday, July 03, 2012 Electronic reading room solemnly opened in the Altai State University
Electronic reading room with remote access to the resources of the Presidential Library named after Boris Yeltsin solemnly opened in the Altai State University.

In order to keep an electronic reading room running they realized wired and wireless local area network, meeting system and videoconferencing system. In addition, some construction works were carried out, including replacement of heating system, electricity and lighting, and ventilation system was built as well.

Developed network infrastructure combines high-performance LAN and wireless network, enabling visitors to connect their personal devices. The solution implemented on the basis of switches and wireless access points is simple to use and failsafe, provides a high level of security for users connecting to the high school network, the resources of the Presidential Library and the Internet. The new hall will enable students and faculty to conduct video conferencing, broadcast thesis on the Internet, and organize video bridges, due to the installed system based on video conferencing equipment. In addition to providing high-definition (HD) this solution offers rich functionality, ease of implementation, management and operation.

Some solutions to further develop the library are also designed, giving a chance to create full-text electronic library fund, provide access to it through the information portal, and realize the possibility of rapid replication of the University publications.

The project was brought to life in a short time: all work in accordance with international standards and high demands of the Presidential Library to the organization of rooms and user services have been performed less than in two months.
