Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) gained the right to establish its own educational standards. Russian president Vladimir Putin signed the corresponding decree.
According to this document published on the official legal information website, MGIMO is to be included in the list of institutions that can establish their own state standards and requirements for educational programs of higher professional education.
The decree dated September 9, 2008 already lists Saint Petersburg State University, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Saint Petersburg Naval Technical University, the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration and People’s Friendship University of Russia.
